REASI, May 21: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 11 animals besides arrested 2 smugglers in Chassana area of Mahore
A specific information was received at Police Station Chassana that some persons along with bovine animals were on way from Chana Shikari towards Kashmir Valley via Nikkin Gali on foot without any legal permission and had reached near village Sungri. On this, a Police team from Police Station Chassana, led by SHO Ranjeet Singh, rushed to the spot and rescued 11 bovine animals from the possession of the accused persons. The accused persons, identified as Mohd Rafiq of Channa Neosi Chassana and Mohd Shabir of Shikari Mahore, were arrested on the spot.
In this connection, case under FIR No. 20/2016 U/S 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Chassana.
