One killed, three injured in separate road mishaps

JAMMU, May 22: A man was killed while three others including a child were injured in separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a pedestrian identified as Sita Ram, son of Shonka Ram, a resident of village Showa, tehsil Bhalwal, was killed on the spot after he was hit by an unknown vehicle at Ranjhan within the limits of police station Gharota, late last night.
“The body of the deceased was shifted to the mortuary room of a nearby hospital where after completing all medico-legal formalities, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites”, he said, adding a case in this connection was registered at police station Gharota and investigation was underway.
Meanwhile, three persons identified as Kuldeep Kumar (32) son of Girdhari Lal, resident of Suketar (Jhajjar Kotli), his wife, Bindra (28) and their child, Aarav were injured when the scooty on which they were travelling, was hit by a rashly driven car at Suketar, this evening.
The injured couple and their child were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment, where their condition was stated to be stable. The concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
