Army inaugurates Chinar 9 Jawan Clubs

Srinagar, May 25: Army today inaugurated three Chinar 9 Jawan Clubs at Mawar Payeen, Magam and Tangpora in pursuance of its vision of constructive development of Kashmiri youth.
A defence spokesman said the Chinar 9 Jawan Clubs were inaugurated by GOC Kilo Force, Major General Jarken Gamlin. To establish the ‘Chinar 9 Jawan Clubs’ Community Centres were identified close to State Highways with easy accessibility to large number of villages, he said.
“To make it beneficial for majority of the youth, their prior consent and requirement were solicited before finalising the facilities that have been created at the newly established ‘Chinar 9 Jawan Club’ at all the place,” the spokesman said.
He said that a strong endeavour has been made to provide conducive environment and state of the art facilities at the Club which will go a long way in building talent, aptitude and resilience among the local youth by providing them with good recreational facilities and avenues to increase their knowledge and skills, thus also keeping them away from indulging in anti social activities.
“The facilities created at ‘Chinar 9 Jawan Club’ include mini library, carrom and chess, computer and internet facility, pool table, table tennis and TV with DTC,” said the spokesman.
Apart from the Sarpanchs and Nambardars, a large number of military and civil dignitaries were also present at the inauguration of Chinar 9 Jawan Clubs. “The youth of the area have eagerly waited for its inauguration so that they could utilize the facilities available at ‘Chinar 9 Jawan Clubs’.  The initiative is yet another in the series of people friendly enterprises that the Army has been continuously taking,” he said.
