RAJOURI, May 25: The people from Thannamandi area today held protest against the R&B authorities and blocked Shahdara Sharief road for more than an hour.
Reports said that people from Upper Shahdara are demanding road connectivity through Shahdara Sharief area while R&B authorities planned to connect this area via Pangai. They are strongly opposing the move of the R&B authorities and demanded that road connectivity should be given via Shahdara Sharief.
The agitating villagers blocked road for about one and half hour and disrupted movement of traffic. Later, Tehsildar Thannamandi Rafiq Mughal and SHO Surinder Katyal reached there and they cleared the road. Tehsildar assured to take up the matter with the DC Rajouri and SE R&B, Rajouri-Poonch Circle.
