Absconding thief arrested

JAMMU, May 25: Jhajjar Kolti police arrested an absconding thief, who was evading his arrest for the past few months.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli police station conducted raid and nabbed an absconding thief, who was at large since long.
The accused has been identified as Raj Kumar, son of Munshi Ram, a resident of Sunal Majalta, district Udhampur.
He had stolen the truck having items worth over Rs 20 lakh from the jurisdiction of Jhajjar Kolti police station few months back. The vehicle and the items were recovered by the police, but the accused was at large, who was nabbed by the Jhajjar Kolti police today.
A case under FIR Number 35/16 under Section 379 RPC stands registered against the accused at Jhajjar Kotli police station and further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station Inspector Ravinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
