KATRA, May 25: Police today arrested two drug peddlers and seized 5.5 gm heroin from their possession, when the duo was on way from Jammu to Katra
Acting on specific information, a Police team headed by SHO Katra, Inspector Sanjeev Sharma, laid special naka at Moorie and intercepted an Alto car bearing registration number JK02BF/9186, which was on way from Jammu to Katra.
The car was being driven by Izmam-Ul-Haq of Bhaderwah, at present Kachi Chawni Exchange Road Jammu and he was accompanied by another person namely Gourav Sooden of Sainik Colony Jammu. During checking, the police team recovered 5.5 gms of heroin along with a Weighing Machine from their possession.
Police seized the heroin along with weighing machine as well as the car and arrested both the accused. In this connection, a case under FIR No. 87/2016 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, has been registered at P/S Katra and investigation of the case is in progress.
