Srinagar, May 27: Government today said the State’s Excise Department has collected over Rs 2100 crore in the form of Excise, Toll and Entertainment Tax in all Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions.
In a written reply to MLC Ashok Khujuria, the Minister Incharge Finance said a total of Rs 2194.66 crore were collected by the Excise Department in financial years 2014-15 and 2015-16. According to the figures of the Finance Department, a total of Rs 940.41 crore were recovered from Jammu Region, Rs 46.94 from Kashmir and Rs 8.91 crore from Leh region.
The figures reveal that Rs 1144.84 crore were recovered from Jammu region, Rs 42.31 crore from Kashmir region and Rs. 10.83 crore from Leh region as Toll tax. As per Government data, Jammu is the only region in State from where Entertainment has been collected by the Excise Department. The data reveals that Excise Department has collected Rs 0.42 crore as Entertainment Tax.
