JAMMU, May 27: Accusing the Government of encouraging Islamist polity in Kashmir, Panun Kashmir today said it is unfortunate that Union Government is asking those forces to allow the rehabilitation of displaced Pandits in Valley who brought about destruction in Kashmir Valley and were responsible for mass exodus of the minority Hindus from there.
There is no way to the return of over seven lakh Kashmiri Hindus to Valley except the formula of separate homeland given by Panun Kashmir through its Margdarshan resolution in 1991, PK convener Dr Agnishekhar and its chairman, Dr Ajay Chrungoo and senior PK leader O N Chrungoo told reporters here today.
They said Kashmir is already an Islamized polity as every component in Valley is opposing the return of Pandits so there is no way of their settlement except carving out of a separate homeland within Valley with UT status as per the Margdarshan resolution.
It is evident that the return policy envisaged by the Governments in the State and at the Centre is aimed less at a sustainable and permanent return and more for providing a secular cover to the extremely regressive political order prevalent in Kashmir, said Dr Agnishekhar.
He said that PK has now serious doubts that political class in New Delhi has been willfully working in the direction that converts J&K into a religious State.
While the rejection of the return of the Kashmiri Hindus by the political class belonging to majority community in Valley is the continuation of the genocidal war against them, the return policy of GoI is a blatant denial of the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus, said Dr Ajay Chrungoo. Hindus of Kashmir are actually face to face with a two pronged campaign aimed at their total destruction, he added.
He said that the talk of demographic change of Kashmri Valley is in fact a diversionary tactic to hide the systematic demographic change being brought out in Jammu province by the fundamentalist separatist establishment in the State in collusion with the governments in State as well as Centre.
The policy of winning the hearts and minds is in fact a policy of protecting Islamic fundamentalism and watching the geo-political interests of Pakistan in J&K said O N Trisal.
