Srinagar, May 31: Government today said that it has spent an amount of Rs. 23,315,695.31 which included setting up of STPs, de-weeding and electricity tariff used to run the machinery in Dal lake here.
In a written reply to a question of MLA Shamim Firdous in Lower House, Minister Incharge Housing and Urban Development Department, said the expenditure borne on the sewage system around Dal Lake and construction of STPs under MH 3435- N. L. C. P/ MH 5425 S&ER, a cumulative expenditure of Rs. 5653.93 lakh was incurred since its inception up to April 2016.
“Similarly, a total expenditure on construction of STPs around Dal under MH3435- NLCP/ MH 5425 S&ER and MH 4217 state sector was Rs 2083.38 lakhs,” he said.
The minister said: “The de-weeding in Dal lake is being carried out on contract basis, consisting of spring de-weeding and autumn de- weeding. Skimming is also done during summer period. Total expenditure incurred during 2015-16 was Rs. 185.00 lakh. A total Power expenditure of Rs. 1, 90, 91,313 was also incurred.”
