Srinagar, June 1: Jammu and Kashmir High Court today sought report from the State by next week on implementation of order with regard to making functional the State Human Rights Commission.
The SHRC is not functional in the State due to non-appointment of its chairman and members despite the court judgment passed last year.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice D S Thakur after great persuasions from the State counsel who sought time till Monday to come up with the stand in this regard, ordered: “At the request of AAG post on June 6 in getting implementation of order  and in default Secretary Law, Justice and Parliamen-tary Affairs shall appear in person”.
“What will you do by Monday. What about Human Rights in the State”, DB asked.
