SRINAGAR, June 3: Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar today inaugurated court room at State Accountability Commission (SAC).
Among others Chairperson State Accountability Commission Justice B.A.Khan, member SAC Justice J.P Singh, Additional Advocate General, Deputy Advocate General besides senior advocates and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Welcoming the Chief Justice on the occasion, Justice B A Khan said with the inauguration of the court room, the SAC is able to hear cases/complaints in court instead of rooms. He said besides appropriate environment, proper infrastructure and facilities are important for the smooth functioning of the Judiciary and various measures are being taken to make State Accountability Commission more vibrant so that corruption is uprooted from the State.
He hoped that new court room will help the Commission to function in more efficient and effective manner. He also sought restoration of the SAC Act to its original position to include Government servants and Government corporations.
Justice Khan further said that Jammu and Kashmir Accountability Commission is empowered to inquire into and investigate the grievances against the political class and asked people to come forward with genuine complaints if any before the Commission so that such complaints or grievances are addressed to provide justice without delay beside aim of setting up of the Commission is accomplished.
