Power Ministry gets Rs 3790 cr, Home Rs 4813 cr from PM Package

Srinagar, June 3:  Government today said the State’s Power Ministry has got Rs. 3790 crore from Prime Minister’s package while the MHA has got Rs. 4813 crore.
In a written reply to a question of MLA Altaf Ahmad Wani in Lower House, Minister Incharge Planning Development and Monitoring said the package announced by the Prime Minister of India is for the overall development of the state and not confined to any particular area and covers project that are in the larger interest of the state.
The Minister stated that Rs. 4813 crore  has been allocated to Ministry of Home Affairs which would  include Rs. 1080 crore for the jobs to 3000 Kashmiri Migrants (salary to be reimbursed by the centre for 10 years @ Rs. 30,000 per month), Rs. 2000 crore for rehabilitation package for one time settlement of 36384 families from Pakistan occupied Kashmir and Chhamb DPs, 13 crores for  Rehablitation package for Jammu migrants, Rs. 300 crore for IR battalion (5 in J&K at an approximate cost of Rs. 60 crore per Battalion) and Rs 500 cr to high end security  and law and order system in J&K.
The Minister stated that Rs. 3790 crore has been allocated for the Ministry of Power which includes special assistance for the augmentation infrastructure for distribution system including capital cities, tourist destinations (excludes normal entitlement of J&K state for DDUGJY and IPDS).
The Minister stated that Rs. 1445 crore has been allocated for comprehensive flood management of river Jhelum and its tributaries. “Financial assistance of Rs. 206.06 crore was provided to flood affected under SDRF in favour of individual households in respect of damaged structures as per scale prescribed under SDRF,” the Minister said.
Another tranche of financial assistance of Rs. 631 crore was provided under Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). “Rs. 1200 crore assistance for completely damaged/ severely damaged/ partial damaged houses was allocated. Against this, ending March, 2016 Relief and Rehabilitation Department has disbursed Rs. 9596.67 crore as additional Central Assistance through concerned Deputy Commissioners to the owners of damaged houses, including Rs. 96.64 crore disbursed in favour of 13914 affected in respect of district Anantnag,” the Minister further stated.
Rs. 4000 crores have also been allocated for the creation of two AIIMS like institutes for heath care in capital cities of J&K at Rs. 2000 crore per AIIMS. “Rs. 1000 crore has been granted for establishment of IIT at Jammu and Rs. 100 crore for upgradation of NIT Srinagar,” the Minister added.
The Minister said for the construction of semi ring roads in Jammu and Srinagar Rs. 1400 crore and Rs. 1860 crore have been granted.
