NIFD’s workshop on creative ideas concludes

JAMMU, June 3: A four-day long free workshop on creative ideas organised by National Institute of Fashion Designing (NIFD) Jammu concluded today in the campus here.
A large number of participants drawn from different areas of the city participated in the workshop wherein they made beautiful hanging fabric lamps with acrylic colours and paint technique.
The participants also created beautiful photo frames with shilpkar, elephant paper weights made out of waste AC pipes, pencil stands out of water pipes and liquid embroidery on kurtas and t-shirts.
Such workshops increase the creativity of the students and enhance their thinking capacity on how to make the best use of waste materials lying idle at home.
The participants expressed happiness to attend the workshop. They said it helped them in sharpening and improving their skills besides gaining more knowledge about fashion and interior designing techniques.
While speaking on the occasion, NIFD Jammu Chairperson, Vanita Thakur said NIFD always strived to provide such platforms to the students where they can explore their talents.
She also announced that another workshop will be held from June 9 and 10 in which well known fashion designer from Chandigarh would come and give the students an overview of the intriguing world of draping.
