Yoga prog for lawyers organised

Jammu, June 5: On the eve of International Yoga Day, Criminologists Society of J&K organized a one day yoga programme for the Advocates and Public Prosecutors of Jammu in the High Court complex, Jammu.
The programme was organized in collaboration with Kaivlyadhama, Pune and Vichar Kranti Manch International, which have been co-opted by the Union Health Ministry (AYUSH) to take the Common Yoga Protocol to the grass root level.
Large number of senior and junior advocates from Jammu participated in the programme. The programme started with preparatory postures followed by postures for curing physical problems concerning the legal profession. Then, Pranayam and after that ways to do Meditation was also taught.
While speaking about the connection of criminology and Yoga, Advocate Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, president of Criminologists Society said that Yoga brings perceptible changes in mental make up and even physical changes in brain cells and gene functioning occurs which brings positivity in the humans and this process has proved to be successful in changing criminal behaviour and the concept can be used to control spiraling crime.
He said that by involving the lawyer community, a message will go to the international community that besides health benefits, Yoga can be used to control the malaise of crime which causes loss of trillions and thousands of lives at global level. He urged the Central Government to urge United Nations to make use of the concept of crime control through Yoga and check the loss of lakh of crore due to crime problem.
Sriyans Jain, President of Vichar Kranti Manch  and well known Yoga expert initially taught the modes to practice Yoga postures and then spoke about the various health benefits of Yoga. He urged the legal fraternity to adopt Yoga as a way of life to curb various health problems occurring in legal profession. P.N.Jalla, Lal Singh, Samyal, Angrej Singh and other Yoga experts also taught various yoga postures. Ranjeet Singh, Rakeshwar Singh Durswal, Gen.Secretaries, Ashwani Kumar, Pawan Dev Singh, Sandeep Singh, Amarveer Manhas from Criminologists Society were also present.
