JAMMU, June 6: Prof Lallan Mishra, Emeritus Professor, Department of Chemistry, Banaras Hindu University, today delivered a guest lecture at the University of Jammu.
He elaborated that how the Chemistry is important in life processes and fulfilling the needs of human kinds. He explained that molecular recognition and molecular assembly is the key approach to design the molecules of life importance. He focused that every molecule has its own characteristics in non-combined form but when it is combined in the form of an assembly it is recognized by the body.
In his power-point presentation, he described the linkages of natural phenomenon with the life in view to design molecules or molecular assembly (supermolecules) to cure many diseases including cancer He also emphasized to the research scholars to have a vision to their research work to find the possibilities of making simple molecules into life saving assemblies.
Earlier, Prof S K Pandey, Head of the Chemistry Department, introduced Prof. Mishra to the audience. The lecture was attended by Prof R K. Bamezai, Prof H N Sheikh, Prof Satya Paul, Dr D S Sambyal, Dr Monika Gupta, Ashwani, Dr Amit Kumar Sharma and all the research scholars of the Department.
