AMCCC asks Govt to clarify stand on migrants rehabilitation

JAMMU, June 7: Expressing serious concern over continuous opposition to settlement of Kashmiri Pandits in separate colonies in Valley by the separatists and protest launched by JKLF led by Yasin Malik in this regard, All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) urged the Government to clarify its stand on the rehabilitation of displaced Pandits in Valley.
The AMCCC which held a meeting under the chairmanship of Desh Rattan to deliberate over the issue has urged the BJP including Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh to clarify the stand on the issue. It alleged that separatists have gained strength due to the appeasement policy adopted by successive union Governments toward s them with the result, the Kashmiri Pandits who are the indigenous people of the Valley are leading an exiled life in their own country for over last 27 years now.
The meeting demanded release of balance ex-gratia pending since 1990, compensation to overaged youth, compensation for damaged houses and other property, restoration of migrants land as well as of their religious places encroached by anti social elements, and punishment to the militants responsible for selective killings of members of minority community in Valley to force the exodus of Pandits.
Desh Rattan warned that in case Government failed to fulfill the demands, Pandits will come to streets.
