Srinagar, June 7: Govern-ment today disclosed that out of 48 regular veterinary sheep centres 36 are without departmental buildings and are functioning in the rented buildings.
In a written reply to a question of Ranbir Singh Pathania in Lower House, Minister Incharge Animal/ Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department said that against 48 regular veterinary/ sheep centres 36 are without departmental buildings.
“Further, 4 out of 15 trail centres are running in Government accommodations. Sheep extension centres at Majalta, Seogalli, Joffer, Pachoud, and Dheeran will be taken up under the Centrally sponsored scheme ‘Establish-ment and Stregthening of vertenary Hospitals and dispensaries’ and the construction of Sheep Extension Centre Katawalt is being established under NABARD through PWD. Rest of the buildings will be taken up in a phased manner under different schemes,” he stated.
A total of 48 regular veterinary/ sheep centres are functioning in Ramnagar constituency. In addition 15 centres called Trial Centres are operating through internal adjustment of staff in the constituency, the Minster stated.
The Minister further stated that a total of 11 posts of Veterinary Assistant Surgeons (VAS), 102 posts of Non Gazetted and 55 posts of Class IV are sanctioned in the constituency to tackle the cadre wise shortage of staff.
