JAMMU, June 9: Eighteen passengers including the driver of a vehicle were injured after the Tata Mobile bearing registration number PB02AG/9547 which was on its way from Ramgarh to Mananoo hit a tree near Mansar Morh early this morning.
The vehicle was carrying devotees from Ramgarh to Mananoo Radha Swami Satsang Ghar near Mansar Morh for Kar Sewa. Out of 18 injured passengers 12 were shifted to GMC Jammu in a serious condition for treatment.
Police said that the driver while reaching Mansar Morh lost control over steering and hit a tree on roadside resulting into injuries to 18 passengers.
Soon after the accident the local people rushed to the spot for rescuing the passengers. Later a police Party led by SHO Samba, Sanjeev Chib also reached the accident spot and shifted the injured to District Hospital Samba. Out of them 12 people with serious injures were referred to GMC Jammu for treatment.
The Samba police has registered a case under Section 279/337 RPC.
The injured passengers were identified as Rashpal, son of Kaka Ram, Vidya Devi, wife of Sewa Ram, Bachiter Lal, Sewa Ram son of Sain Dass, Pannu Ram son of Kaka Ram, Kamba, Geeta Devi, wife of Sham Lal, Balkar Chand, son of Kaka Ram, Simero, wife of Chaman Lal, Kavita daughter of Chaman Lal, Romesh Lal son of Teg Ram, Kuldeep Raj , son of Krishan Chand, Jagar Ram, son of Kaka Ram, Ashok Kumar, son of Parkash Chand, Jyoti Devi wife of Balkar, Veeru Ram son of Rolu Ram all residents of Nanga, Ramgarh in district Samba Kesar Bhagat, son of Maha Dev of Sarro in Ramgarh and driver of the vehicle Rajinder Kumar.
