JAMMU, June 11: Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Police Headquarters, Gareeb Dass has been posted as Director Vigilance in Railways Board, Ministry of Railways, New Delhi.
An IPS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre, Gareeb Dass will remain on Central deputation during his posting in the Railways Ministry, New Delhi, official sources said. He had recently been cleared for promotion as IGP by the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) but formal order of his positing hadn’t been issued as yet.
Gareeb Dass had served on several prestigious postings in Jammu and Kashmir including DIG Udhampur-Reasi, Doda-Ramban and Baramulla-Kupwara ranges. He has also served as SSP Kathua, Ramban, Srinagar, Anantnag etc.
He was likely to take over his new assignment in next few days, sources said.
