JAMMU, June 12: Medanta Institute of Neurosciences Gurgaon in association with Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) City Branch Jammu organized a Continuous Medicine Education (CME) programme on the topic “Managing Paediatric and Complicated cases of Epilepsy”.
In the programme, Dr Atmaram Bansal, Senior Consultant and Epilepsy Specialist along with Dr Yeeshu Singh, Consultant Paediatric Neurologist (Only one in J&K with this rare specialty for children) presented their presentations.
The technical session of CME was chaired by Dr Sushil Razdan, Renowned Neuro Physician of Country along with Dr DB Sharma, Former Prof and Head Department of Paediatrics, Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu as chief guest and chairperson respectively, while Dr GS Saini, Prof Department of Paediatrics, GMC Jammu and President IAP Jammu Branch attended the occasion as guest of honour.
The keynote speaker from host Medanta–The Medicity, Dr Atmaram Bansal while speaking on the subject “Advancement in Management of Difficult to treat Epilepsy” with special reference of the J&K discussed various aspects of complicated epilepsies.
Enlightening the gathering on recent developments on treating difficult cases of Epilepsy, Dr Atmaram Bansal stressed upon quality diagnosis through EEG and MRI with modern technology and through experienced and qualified team of technicians and doctors which is helping in early and timely diagnosis treats the patient and challenges faced in treatment.
Dr Yeeshu Singh, Consultant, Paediatric Neurology, Medanta Institute of Neurosciences presented their presentation on the subject “Paediatric Epileptic Syndrome and its management”. Dr Singh also replied queries raised by medicos during the CME on basic issues related to Epilepsy Disorders, indications and results, treatment by new technology like DBS Surgeries.
The CME was witnessed by Senior Consultants from GMC, ASCOMS and DHS Jammu wherein prominent faces Like Dr Ashok Gupta, Dr Ravinder Singh, Dr Sanjeev Digra, Dr Sunil Dutt Sharma, Dr Romesh Gupta, MS, Super Speciality Hospital, Dr Sanjeev Khajuria, Dr Vinod Raina, Dr Goutam Goel, Registrars and PG students from GMC.
The programme was well conducted by Dr Rajesh Koul, while vote of thanks was presented by Sanjay Roy from Medanta.
