Bovine smuggling attempts foiled, 20 animals rescued

REASI, June 12: Police today rescued 20 bovine animals as two separate attempts of bovine smuggling were foiled under the jurisdiction of Arnas Police Station.
A specific information was received at Police Post Dewal that some persons were on way along with bovine animals towards Kashmir via Magnar Gali, without any legal permission. On this, a Police team from PP  Dewal  laid a special naka at Khour Nallah and rescued 15 bovine animals from the possession of  accused persons, identified as  Nazir Ahmed of Jamaslan,  Mahore, and Abdul Hamid of Neeram  Mahore.
Both the accused persons were arrested and a case under Section 188 RPC was registered at Police Station Mahore.
Meanwhile, Arnas Police foiled another attempt of bovine smuggling at Challadh when the accused was taking the animals towards Kashmir. A special naka was laid at Charog Gali Challadh, under the Supervision of SHO Arnas, Inspector Arvind Sambyal, and five bovine animals were rescued from the possession of accused Mohammad Ikhlaq of Arnas.
Police arrested the accused and register a case in this regard.
