JAMMU, June 12: People of Buta Nagar, Paloura held protest against Jammu Development Authority (JDA) for forcibly encroaching private land in violation of court’s order.
Large number of people including women and children assembled near Main Chowk and raised slogans against JDA for hatching criminal conspiracy to encroach land fallen under Khasra number 512 in Buta Nagar, Paloura. They blocked the road and disrupted the traffic movement.
Protesters claimed that they are original owners of said piece of land, which is still sub-judice in court of Municipal Magistrate and Court has granted stay to the aggrieved persons in year 2012 when JDA earlier tried to erect fencing.
The protesters said that JDA had been involved in criminal conspiracy and encroaching their land with muscular power and using police and other para military forces, without any valid documents to support its ownership while the locals have all the papers to support the claims.
The protesters appealed to the BJP-PDP Government and MLA and Health Minister Bali Bhagat to conduct a probe into the working of JDA and its Vice Chairman, who is involving in harassing the poor and unprivileged section of society.
The protestors include Chanchal Devi, Shamsher, Tilak Raj, Roshan Lal, Ghirdari Lal, Ankush, Sahil, Amit, Mohit , Tahir Sheikh, Sat Pal, Ram Lal, Rajesh , Pushpa Devi, Sonia, Rattno Devi, Rockey, Manoj,  Suraj Tara Chan, Kaka, etc.
