Develop Housing Colony Kathua

J&K Housing Board Colony Kathua is without roads, electric and water system, playgrounds, parks, community centre, commercial area even after 25 years of its establishment. In its first look, this 600 kanals colony gives realisation of board’s ignorance and mismanagement as only a handful of residential houses are there and the rest of the area is covered with thorny bushes and shrubs. The residents of this colony made repeated pleas before the current as well as earlier Government to provide basic infrastructural facilities to this colony but nothing has been done. Situation has worsened to this extent that residents as well as plot holders are in lurch after spending their hard earned money to build a shelter in this colony. Their ambition to settle in a nearby urban town for good educational and medical facilities are not being fulfilled as no development is taking place in this only housing colony  of district Kathua. Expressing dismay over the mismanagement of J&K Housing Board to ignore development work in this colony, residents urge the authorities to develop this colony by black topping its internal roads, construction of parks, community centre, playing as well as commercial area, repair of street lights, provision of additional water pump and connecting this colony with National Highway-1A.

Blacktop Muthi road
The Government has black-topped a good number of roads in the State and has earned praise for the same.
We would like to draw its attention towards the road passing through the Evergreen Hr. School, Lower Roop Nagar near Swaymanand Ashram. The road has developed several ditches which are causing great inconvenience to motorists, particularly during rains. It is one way road, and serves a large section of society.
The residents have time and again brought the condition of this road in the notice of the concerned authorities, but nothing has been done so far to improve its condition.
It is therefore, once again requested to blackop this road at the earliest.

Chopping of Poplars at Parnai
District Administration of Poonch is still lazy to implement the direction of High Court regarding chopping of Russian Poplars from the premises of Parnai Hydel project (PDD) Draba which causes various pollen borne diseases. The people living around Parnai Project are the worst sufferers and their health is at stake, We, the people of this particular area have approached District Administration many times but all in vain. They are not concerned about the well being of public. Last year SDM Surankote and Tehsildar Surankote came here after strike by public and assured them about the removal of the same within a week. Even after many representations they are unable to remove them. The issue was brought in the notice of DC Poonch but despite his assurance there is no outcome yet.
