19 bovines rescued, 3 arrested

JAMMU, June 12: With the arrest of three persons, police today foiled bovines smuggling bids and recovered 19 cattle from their possession.
As per police sources, police team laid a naka at Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a truck. During checking, police rescued 14 bovine animals and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Sunit Kumar and Mohammed Saleem.
The accused smugglers were smuggling the bovine animals from Jammu to Valley.
Meanwhile, Chatroo police arrested a person and rescued 5 bovine animals from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Shafi, son of Misra Din, a resident of  Sarwaa Keshwan, district Kishtwar.
Cases under relevant Sections stands registered against the bovine smugglers at concerned police stations and investigation started.
