SRINAGAR: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members created ruckus in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council following denial permission for discussion on reported presence of Chinese Army in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
As the House assembled this morning, BJP members demanded a discussion on a resolution moved by Ramesh Arora to condemn presence of Chinese Army in Gilgit and Baltistan in PoK.
However, Chairman Haji Inayat Ali didn’t allow the discussion on as the government was yet to respond on the issue even as Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Law and Justice Abdul Haq Khan said that the government is ready to discuss the issue. “First the government needs to respond on the issue, and then only can I allow a discussion on the issue,” the Chairman said.
Mr Arora moved a resolution in the House which read, “This House strongly condemns the presence of Chinese Army in Gilgit and Baltistan area which are parts of our territory and recommends to the Government of India (GoI) to take up the matter at appropriate level.” (AGENCIES)
