‘Coalition’ high on rhetoric, low on implementation: Bhalla

JAMMU, June 14:  Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today slammed Coalition Govt for poor deliverance with utter failure on its part to address  the genuine urges and aspirations of the people of the State.
Addressing public meetings at Raina Colony, Azad Nagar and Rajeev Nagar in Gandhi Nagar constituency today, Mr Bhalla  said the Government had been high on rhetoric and low on delivery with all its tall claims, airy slogans and loud pronouncements having fallen flat.
“Despite BJP claimed liberal Central funding and a plethora of Centrally-sponsored schemes announced to support the infrastructural development of the State, the delivery on the ground has been negligible. The politico-constitutional apparatus has collapsed and the administrative machinery having completely been paralyzed, the faith of the common man has been completely shaken,” Bhalla alleged.
With the intelligence inputs suggesting that terrorists might target the two-month-long Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrimage, Mr Bhalla demanded additional police forces and high tech surveillance equipment to ensure it goes incident free. “Security apparatus can not afford to slacken their vigil even in a period of relative peace. They have to remain alert so that the situation does not deteriorate suddenly. The selective attacks targeting the security forces are meant to provoke them to retaliate harshly which can create an environment of fear all over again,” Bhalla added.
Expressing serious concern over militant attack at Kud on Monday, he said that the selection of NH for the attack reinforces the vulnerability of existing lines of communication and especially the key arteries in the state. Despite a well oiled intelligence grid of security forces, which has matured over the years, the proficiency with which the terrorists sprung a successful ambush should therefore, be seen as a substantial tactical gain, Bhalla added.
The Congress leader  further said that the Govt has been high on rhetoric and low on delivery with all its tall claims and loud pronouncements having fallen flat. He lambasted the most hostile discrimination doled out to Jammu region in multifarious sectors including development projects, devolution of funds, employment opportunities, share in professional institutions, rural connectivity, power, health sector, tourism promotion besides others.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion include Sarpanch Shamsher Singh, Sarpanch Aaya Singh, Ajit Talwar, Ashraf, Swarn Kour besides others.
