Teachers hold open session

JAMMU, June 16: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum organized one day open session under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria State general secretary of the Forum which was attended by members of Jammu district.
The delegates who spoke on the occasion stressed for unity among teaching community to get their genuine demands addressed by the authorities.
The main issues which came up for discussion pertained to Transparent transfer policy in respect of teachers, masters, lecturers by putting a halt to pick and choose and favouritism; To remove the pay anomaly of master grade of 6500-10500 to 7450-11500; Issuance of adjustment orders of masters promoted under DPC in February 2014; Release of salary grants in favour of masters and teachers working under RMSA/SSA/NPS and also release of mid day meal grants; Increase in the honorarium in favour of ReTs up to Rs 15000 per month; Early regularization of ReTs who have obtained degrees from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Deemed University under Ministry of HRD, Government of India; Implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations in favour of State Government employees; and To simplify the process of permission cases in favour of in-service teachers who want to enhance their academic qualification.
While speaking on the occasion Ganesh Khajuria urged  the Government to look into the genuine demands of the teaching community and address the same at an earliest otherwise the Forum will be left with no option than to launch a decisive struggle. He further appealed all the teachers to work hard to raise the academic standard in the Government schools and justify their jobs by utilizing their talent for the betterment of students.
