20 polling booths for migrants

JAMMU, June 16: As by–election to Anantnag Assembly Segment is going to be held on June 22, Election Commission has established 20 polling booths for Kashmiri migrant voters outside the Valley.
This was stated by Sachin Dev Singh Assistant Returning Officer (M) Jammu while talking to Excelsior. He said for 3970 voters 20 polling booths have been established outside the Valley.
They included 15 at Jammu, one at Udhampur and four at Delhi. Mr Singh said the Kashmiri migrants who wish to cast their vote in person were required to fill Form M for giving choice of the polling station at which they wish to cast their vote.
The M Forms are available at all zonal offices/ camp offices, Shanker Building and Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner’s Office here, he added.
Mr Singh has asked the migrants to fill up the M-Forms and submit them along with a photocopy of ration card or data form for identification of migrant status and deposit them by tomorrow.
It may be recalled that the by-election to Anantnag Assembly segment in South Kashmir had become inevitable after the demise of former Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed last year. Mr Sayeed was elected as PDP candidate from Anantnag Assembly segment in the general Assembly elections during the year 2014.
