JAMMU, June 18: A deputation of Yogoda Satsang Society (YSS) of India comprising Swami Smaranananda, Swami Nityananda and Swami Ishwarananda met Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi to extend invitation to him to participate in the YSS centenary celebrations in 2017.
During the meeting, the deputation gifted PM spiritual classic autobiography of a Yogi in Sanskrit and Gujarati, God Talks to Arjuna, a beautifully framed picture of Yogeshwar Krishna along with monetary relief of Rs 25,00,000 towards the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
The deputation conveyed deep appreciation of Sanghamata Sri Sri Mrinalini Mata for Prime Minister’s efforts for getting the UN to declare June 21 as the International Yoga Day. In the letter, the Mata called Narendra Modi an ardent practitioner of Yoga and Indian spirituality and admired his contribution for instituting an International Day of Yoga which was subsequently adopted within a very short time by a record number of nations.
She affirmed the instrumentality of Sri Sri Parmahansa Yogananda for disseminating India’s ancient science of Kriya Yoga meditation for attaining direct personal experience of God and in promoting unity between East and West with his universal message.
Later, the deputation also met Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Urban Development, Venkaiah Naidu and gifted them YSS literature.
