Two officials of Revenue Deptt booked by Vigilance

JAMMU, Sept 21: State Vigilance Organization today booked two officials of the Revenue Department.
An official spokesman said that a case has been registered against Abdul Rashid Parray, the then Patwari Halqa Bandipora on the allegation that he in league with some other people and as a part of well knit conspiracy made changes in the record of Halqa Bandipora.
During verification, it came to fore that accused official forged revenue extracts in favour of various beneficiaries facilitating bestowing of ownership/proprietary rights on them illegally. The accused had also prepared several fraudulent documents shown attested by his superiors and shown depositing of fee for fake mutations, which too were found false during verification.
On the basis of these omissions and commissions, a case has been registered against him and further investigation started.
The spokesman said that Nazir Ahmed Wani, the then Office Qanoongo, Tehsil Office Sumbal, Sonawari has also been booked for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 35,000 from the complainant Haji Abdul Aziz Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar of Lalnagar, Chanpora, Srinagar for implementation of order passed by Joint Financial Commissioner (AR) to Tehsildar, Sonawari relating to land situated at Saria Dangerpora.
