SUNDERBANI, June 19: Chairman of SOS International, an organization of PoK refugees, Rajiv Chuni today said that there is no place in BJP’s heart for the refugees of Pak occupied Kashmir.
Addressing a rally of PoK refugees here today Chuni expressed resentment against RSS and BJP that claim to keep Hindutva agenda and work for the interests of Hindus.
He stated that two organizations, BJP and RSS that used to claim themselves as front runner to keep the interests of Hindus have drastically made a U-turn after the elections. BJP is watching the interest of only Kashmir.
“BJP is the same party that used to call People’s Democratic Party (PDP) a ‘Pro- Pakistan Party’, ….’ a father-daughter party’,… ‘a Gangotri of corruption’ and what not but after the Assembly elections, they made their unholy alliance with the same party by first making the father (Mufti Mohd Sayeed) as CM and then daughter (Mehbooba Mufti). BJP has made a dip in ‘Gangotri of corruption’ which presented BJP’s slavish and greedy trait to remain in power. What will be more unfortunate that those PoK refugees who wholeheartedly voted BJP into power are being ignored willfully and the whole focus is pointed on Kashmir, Kashmiri and Kashmiriyat”, he alleged.
Chuni further said that Legislative proceedings are underway for the last 3 weeks and the whole proceedings are focused on Kashmir. Jammu sees nowhere as none of the legislators have been seen raising issues pertaining to Jammu and PoK refugees. Legislature has gone totally Kashmir centric. The amount which is being spent on legislature proceedings is not fetching anything good for Jammu region as tax payers’ money of Jammu division contributes 75% in collecting taxes as compared to Kashmir region which contributes only 25%. This is yet another example of discrimination with Jammu division that play far bigger role in powering Legislative proceedings.
He further said that prior to the parliamentary elections BJP took out the `Refugees Adhikar Yatra’ from Poonch to Kathua led by Jugal Kishore Sharma to show BJP’s commitment to solve the issues of PoK DPs. “Mr Jugal that time had announced PoK DPs issue will be redressed once their Government would come in power but after elections the same turns hostile towards PoK DPs who voted them to power.
Others who also spoke on the occasion included Roshan Lal, Sharda Devi, VK Dutta, Capt Ravinder Sharma, Pt Shiv Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Bhola Ram and DN Raina.
