10 bovines rescued, one arrested

JAMMU, June 19: Police rescued 10 bovine animals and arrested a person.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal police station laid a naka at Bandu Rakh and signaled a Tata Mobile to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver escaped from the spot leaving behind the vehicle, from which police rescued two bovine animals.
A case under FIR number 66/16 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Gangyal police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the bovine smugglers.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal Inspector Aijaz Wani rescued the bovine animals under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
Meanwhile, Dhamkund police rescued 8 bovine animals from a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK19-1846 at Kanga.
The accused driver identified as Mohammad Shafi, son of Mohammad Qasim of Kanga, district Ramban and his associate Abdul Rehman, son of Mohammad Rajab of Budgam were arrested on the spot.
A case under FIR Number 19/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered against the accused at Dhamkund police station and investigation started.
