Admission for BAMS degree

Sir,
This is in reference to the statement made by  State Health Minister  Bali Bhagat who disclosed in Assembly while replying to a question that necessary initiatives are being undertaken to start admissions for BAMS degree course in Govt Ayurvedic College Jammu withi effect from current academic session. Firstly, we avail this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Government for meaningful and purposeful initiatives for the upliftment of Ayush in general and of Ayurveda in particular. Secondly, it will be very pertinent to point out here that mere policy declaration is not enough to make Govt Ayurvedic college functional.
It is beyond any logic or comprehension to talk about proposed admission of said course that too from current academic session. Though State Govt has already sought permission from Central Council of Indian Medicines for proposed admission, the Administrative Department is supposed to have prior knowledge that central council of Indian medicines has prescribed relevant syllabus, faculty along with other rules and regulations. Hence it will be imperative for Administrative Department to first sanction necessary faculty for first professional course and simultaneously refer those posts to State Public Service Commission for recruitment. It will be very relevant to mention here that following subjects are part of curriculum for first year Sharir Kriya (Physiology), Sharir Rachana (Anatomy), Ashthang Hridiya, Padartha Vigyan, Sanskrit.
Yours etc…..
