Srinagar, June 22: Independent MLA Pawan Gupta today demanded CBI probe into multi-crore scam in Jammu and Kashmir Police department where security related expenditure for hiring of vehicles for the conduct of Parliamentary and Assembly elections in 2014 has been swindled.
The MLA expressed concern over the investigations carried out by the Crime Branch as he said that the officers who are conducting the investigation are themselves accused in the scam. “How can they do justice with the investigations”?, he asked
While speaking on the demand of grants in Legislative Assembly, Gupta demanded that this case should be investigated by CBI. He said that since it is related to the elections and the funds are of Central Government so a Central agency should probe it.
He said that he will file a PIL in the court and demand independent investigation into the case.
