BHADERWAH, June 24: Rashtriya Rifles located at Bhaderwah under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force, Batote, observed “Shahidi Divas” today at Gatha Park and paid rich tributes to martyr Subedar Chuni Lal, Ashok Chakra (posthumously), Vir Chakra and Sena Medal, for his glorious saga of gallant acts. The customary event was organized at Gatha Park, Bhaderwah.
The ceremony commenced with wreath laying on the statue of  this brave soldier who made supreme sacrifice for the motherland upholding the highest traditions of Indian Army. The event was witnessed by a number of ex-servicemen, war veterans, NCC cadets, youth and Veer Naris from Bhaderwah tehsil.
The series of gallant acts of this martyr has surely given him recognition as true epitome of bravery and sacrifice which one should emulate. The forum was used to enlighten all ex-servicemen and war veterans about latest welfare measures being extended by the Government.
Speaking on the occasion Naib Subedar Raj Singh Charak (Retd), president Ex-services League, Bhaderwah, conveyed his gratitude to the Army and said that “it feels nice to be recognized by an organization in which they have served during their prime time of youth and wished that this association continues forever”. The event came to an end with tea and refreshments.
