Bali inspects SKIMS College, urges medicos to provide best services to patients

SRINAGAR, June 24: Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today paid visit to SKIMS College, Bemina and took stock of its functioning.
He went round various departments of the College and sought the first hand information about the affairs of the institution. He also interacted with the faculty members, para-medics, patients and their attendants and enquired about the facilities available there.
The Minister was briefed by the senior functionaries of the College about the functioning and issues confronted in absence of Principal for the past some years. Presently the affairs of the College are being looked after by the Principal SKIMS, Soura which cannot do proper justice with the functioning of this College. They requested the Minister for early posting of Principal.
He observed that the functioning of the institution has considerably suffered due to non-posting of a Principal for the past some years and assured the faculties and staff that he will discuss the matter with the Chief Minister for posting a full-fledged Principal for the College on priority so that the patient care may not suffer.
He urged the doctors and para-medics to discharge their duties with utmost zeal and dedication and provide best services to the patients. He also stressed for undertaking a special sanitation drive to ensure cleanliness in and around the premises of the institution with special focus on toilets and washrooms.
Later, the Minister also inspected the under construction building of 500-bedded exclusive Mother & Childcare Hospital (MCH) at Bemina bypass and received the feedback about its status.
The Minister urged the agency to fast pace the work and complete the project within a stipulated time frame with special focus on quality control.
