JAMMU, June 24: Miran Sahib police arrested a murder accused within 12 hours.
As per police sources, a lady identified as Yashoda Devi (62), wife of Pritamber Lal of Krishna Nagar Miran Sahib was assaulted by Deputy Lal alias Raju (32), son of Shiv Ram, resident of same area owing to some old enmity.
In the assault, the lady died and the accused managed to escape from the spot.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the body of the deceased lady to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where after conducting autopsy, the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under FIR Number 103/16 under Section 302 RPC was registered at Miran Sahib police station and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
Police conducted raids in different places during the night and finally nabbed the accused from Badyal Brahmana area.
Further questioning of the accused is going on.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib SI Hilal Azhar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
