Jammu, June 24: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has said that present Coalition Government has miserably failed perform up to the satisfaction of the people.
Addressing  public meeting in Gandhi Nagar constituency today Mr Bhalla highlighted several issues like water scarcity, unscheduled power cuts, ration shortage etc.  He said despite the creating two posts of Tehsildars in Gandhi Nagar constituency, both these posts are lying vacant for months together. The people are facing hardships to get their issues addressed due to vacant posts but the concerned authorities are unmoved over the issue.
Mr Bhalla  also raised the issue of  a woman from Nai Basti who died in terrorist attack at Kud few days back and maintained that no relief from Govt has been provided to the family. Even no officers from the Govt visited the family so far.   He alleged that both PDP and BJP have miserably failed to provide good governance.
Strongly flaying the callous and insensitive attitude of the Govt, he said that the people of Jammu region are made to suffer immense hardships due to scorching heat and soaring humidity with no respite from scheduled and unscheduled power cuts despite assurance. He regretted that in spite of persistent appeals to Government to adhere to scheduled calendar on power supply and the repeated assurances of the Govt, no action has been taken by the latter thus adding to the sufferings and distress of common man. He said that the Jammu region was the major sufferer with the Government and its ministers being mute spectators in the face of a critical and crisis like situation.
Bhalla while criticizing the agenda of alliance said political initiative taken by the coalition to support and strengthen reconciliatory environment and built stakes for all for peace and development can have serious repercussions. He also took the Government to task for decreasing 70 percent funds in national rural drinking water and said that 80 lakh people will be affected by it.
