Teachers Union members apprise Ministers of their issues

SRINAGAR, June 25: A deputation of Education Reformation Teachers Union, District Kishtwar, called on Education Minister Naeem Akhtar and Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Sunil Sharma at Civil Secretariat Srinagar.
The president of the union, Akhter Giri raised various burning issues of Education Department. The main issue was the ReT/RRT surplus teachers whose post have been engulfed and they are now post less besides performing their duties in far flung areas. ERTU general secretary Sanjay Parihar apprised the Minister that surplus ReT/RRT are without salary since March 2015.
The other issues and demands, highlighted during the meeting, included detachment of all teaching staff from office’s and different institutions of the State in general and district Kishtwar in particular, release of salary of ReT/RRT/Head teachers under SSA on regular basis.
After patient hearing, the Minister for Education assured the deputation that all the genuine demands will be resolved on priority basis and he has passed instruction to the Commissioner/ Secretary Education Department regarding the surplus ReTs/RRTs to submit a detailed status report and proposal for solution with in two weeks time.
