JAMMU, June 25: To promote the Folk Culture and celebrate the World Vitiligo Day, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in close coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production and ESRM presented its 108TH Saturday Musical Play Series “Safed Kushat Chha Bacho” at its open air theatre at Janipur, today.
The play was written and directed by M L Dogra. The Program was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health. The guests of honour were V K Magotra and Dr Anju Kumari Dogra. The day commemorated as “Safed Kushat Rog ” as well with sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional, primitive folk, art and culture of J&K region in particular and Indian nation in general awareness.
Specially prepared on the theme ” Safed Kusht Bada Bhayank Lakshan Ede Panchano- Shuru Hone De Kane Ge Bachao Jano”, “Bacho Bacho Safed Kushat Chha Bacho” etc. Nukkad, skits, songs and dances were presented to aware the masses. The music of the play was composed by Master Raju Bajgal.
The chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful and also said the World Vitiligo (Safed Kushat Rog) Day, observed on June 25, is an initiative aimed at building global awareness about vitiligo, a frequent and often disfiguring skin disease that can have a significantly negative social and or psychological impact on patients, in part because of numerous misconceptions still persist in large parts of the world. The choice of June 25 as World Vitiligo Day is a memorial to musical artist Michael Jackson, who suffered from vitiligo from 1986 until his death, which occurred on June 25, 2009.
The renowned singers, musician, actors and students who participated in the programme were Raju Bajgal, Dhruv Pandit, Shaksham Khajuria, Sunny Manhas, Shaan Khan, Bhumika Chib, Deevam Jandiyal, L-Danika, Renu Saproo, Ritesh Magotra, Ananya Anthal, Simran Devi, Aryan Verma, Surinder Verma, Kajal, Pooja Gupta, Salman Bhatti, Mohd Afroz Razz, Arnav Chib and Vandana Gupta. Master Deepak Kumar Dogra presented vote of thanks.
