JAMMU, June 27: Former Minister and senior National Conference NC)  leader Ajay Sadhotra has alleged that BJP-PDP is pushing the youth of the State to wall as no schemes for the unemployed youth have been introduced.
Addressing a meeting of the  party workers at Flora near Nagbani in Marh constituency today,  Mr Sadhotra alleged that PDP-BJP is pushing the youth of the state towards wall. He said that PDP-BJP has no policy for providing employment to the youth and even employment generating programmes / schemes (Udaan, Himayaat, SKEWPY) started by previous Government headed by Omar Abdullah have been shattered. The need of the hour is to generate employment opportunities for the youth but unfortunately State Government is not giving any heed to this important issue.
National Conference leader said that the State has passed through turmoil and turbulence. It becomes the duty of the Central and the  State Governments to create maximum employment generating avenues for youth. At present, the youth are feeling depressed and distressed which is a very dangerous trend. Mr Sadhotra asked the Government to come out with a clear cut employment policy in the State in order to provide maximum employment to the youth.
“Prime Minister during his Parliament election campaign assured the youth of the country that two crore youth will be provided employment every year, since last 2 years youth are waiting but nothing has been done in this regard. This is increasing unrest among youth,” Mr Sadhotra added.
The NC leader asked the Government to fill up the vacant posts in different Government departments on war footing. He demanded that  on spot special recruitment drive be started for border youth.
The meeting was also addressed by Suraj Parkash Sharma, Raman Singh Langeh, Siddharth Sharma and Aditya Jamwal.
