REASI, June 29: Police today foiled an attempt of liquor smuggling to holy town Katra and arrested a bootlegger besides recovering 38 pouches of liquor from his possession.
During routine checking at Sulla Naka in Reasi, Police intercepted one person namely Vishal Sharma of Chowk Chabutra Reasi, who was on way towards Katra in a passenger vehicle.
During checking, police team recovered 38 poly pouches, measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor from the possession of Vishal Sharma.
Police arrested the accused and seized the recovered liquor besides registering a case under Section 48-A Excise Act.
Earlier also, the accused was arrested in Katra and huge quantity of liquor was seized from his possession.
