Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal takes up STP functioning issue with CM

JAMMU, July 1: A deputation of Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal led by its Chairman Inderjeet Khajuria met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and apprised her about the problems being faced by the hoteliers and lodges due to delay in making common Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) functional.
While briefing the Chief Minister, Khajuria informed her that Government has already completed the construction a common STP at Bhagwati Nagar with project cost Rs 129 crore by Jammu Municipal Corporation and same was to be commissioned by March 2015 by giving sewerage connections to old city including hotels and lodges but the same has not matured till date due to the fact that JMC owes Rs 20 crore to National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) as was informed by Commissioner, JMC during a meeting with the association.
Khajuria urged Chief Minister for early solution to the said problem especially in view of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and this will also help the Jammu tourism.
Chief Minister gave patient hearing to the deputation and assured that the problem would be looked in at earliest.
Among others present were Rajesh Gupta, President, Rajeev Gupta, General Secretary, Pawan Gupta, General Secretary, AJHLA, ML Sharma, Amrik Singh and Nishant Gupta.
