Thousands mark International Quds Day rallies

KARGIL, July 1: Thousands of people took to streets across Kargil today to voice support for Palestine on International Quds Day.
Mass rallies took place in Kargil town streets and in other Sub-division and blocks of Kargil district.
Protesters were chanting for Palestine and al-Quds, as they denounced Zionist crimes against Palestinians.
The rallies were organized by Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust and Islamia School Kargil. While in Sankoo and Suru areas, Anjuman-e-Sahib Zaman Organized Alquds rallies after Friday prayer.
Meanwhile, thousands of women under the banner of Zainabia Women Welfare Society also took part in the protest to mark al-Quds day.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kargil, Asgar Karbalaie told reporters that Palestinian people will never remain alone and it will certainly achieve victory in the wake of resistance.
Elsewhere in Drass and Chickten areas, protesters voiced support for al-Quds, stressing that the Palestinian cause will be the central issue for the Muslim nation.
The International Quds Day is an annual event during which demonstrators across the world express their solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and opposition to the occupation of the Palestinian territories by the Zionist entity.
The day, which falls on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, was named by the late Founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini.
