Kotla Mohalla facing acute water shortage

UDHAMPUR, July 1:  Residents of Kotla Mohalla near Air Force Colony  on Bypass road here are facing acute shortage of drinking water as the PHE pipes damaged during  construction of  four-lane National Highway were not restored till today.
A deputation of  the people of this locality led by senior Janata Dal United leader, Mohni Mohan met the Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Angrez Singh Rana here on Thursday and apprised him of the problem s being faced by the people of this entire colony.  They told that many PHE pipes were damaged due to machines utilized for the 4-laning of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway several months back by the National Highway Authority of India. Despite several requests to the PHE authorities, the water pipes were not restored till today.
The ADC, listened to the grievances of the public from Kotla Colony  and issued directions to the Executive Engineer PHE ,  Udhampur to restore water supply within one week and also make alternative arrangements through tankers  for the aggrieved people.
