Lt Gen Hooda calls on Vohra

SRINAGAR, July 1: Governor N N Vohra and Commander of Northern Army Command Lt General D S Hooda today discussed overall security situation in the State, particularly with regard to annual Amarnath pilgrimage, commencing from tomorrow.
Lt Gen Hooda, accompanied by Lt Gen Satish Dua, GOC 15 Corps, called on Governor at the Raj Bhavan here today. The Governor and Army Commander discussed several important matters relating to internal and external security management.
They also discussed the security arrangements for the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra which commences from both traditional Pahalgam and shortest Baltal routes.
Official sources said recent infiltration attempts from across the Line of Control (LoC) besides attack on Central CRPF vehicle by militants in which 8 personnel were killed and 22 others were wounded, also came up for discussion during the meeting.
