Manohar inaugurates tubewell

Minister of State for Finance, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma inaugurating tubewell at Hiranagar on Saturday.

KATHUA, Sept 22: The State Government is fully determined to make available drinking water besides other basic amenities to all sections of the society.
This was stated by Minister of State for Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma after inaugurating a tubewell at village Kasba in Hiranagar today.
The tubewell will be completed with an estimated cost of Rs 118 lakh which will benefit over 2000 population of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sharma said that the tubewell will cater to the drinking water needs of those living in and around Kasba and  Sallan panchayat to meet the growing demand of increasing population.
He said that more check dams and bunds will be raised in the area to increase the water table which is depleting at alarming rate resulting in scarcity of water in the area. He appealed the people to help in conserving their natural surroundings by planting more trees to increase vegetation.
Among others, Deputy commissioner, Kathua Zahida Parveen Khan, Tehsildar Hiranagar, XEn PHE,  other District and Tehsil level officers, Panchs and Sarpanchs, and a large number of people  were also present on the occasion.
