DODA, July 4: A driver was killed, when the Alto car he was driving skidded off the road and plunged into gorge at Khellani on Batote-Kishtwar National High-way, here today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JKO6-8349 was on its way from Jammu to Gandoh, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into gorge near Khellani, resulting into on the spot death of the driver.
After getting information, police rushed to the spot and with the help of locals shifted the body of the deceased to District Hospital Doda, where after completing legal formalities, the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
The deceased has been identified as Hukam Chand (60), son of Badri Nath, a resident of Kota, Kharangal Gandoh.
A case in this regard has been registered at police station Doda and investigation started.
