JAMMU, July 4: A man was electrocuted to death while another received serious burn injuries in saving the former in Pargwal area of Akhnoor, today.
According to a police spokesman, a man identified as Balbir Singh (40) son of Gandharb Singh came in contact with a live wire while untying a steel cable tied with a tree meant for drying wet clothes, at village Bhakwari (Pargwal) and died on the spot.
He said in a bid to save Balbir Singh, another man identified as Parshotam Singh (33) son of Kartar Singh, resident of Bhakwari (Pargwal) also received serious burn injuries.
“After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while the injured Parshotam was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where his condition was stated to be stable till the last reports came in.
The Khour police has registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
