JAMMU, July 4: J&K Govt Employees and Workers Federation (GEWF) has strongly criticized the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, asking employees to wait for two more years for the implementation of 7th Pay Commission report.
In a meeting of the Federation held here today under the chairmanship of S Kulwant Singh, the speakers expressed strong resentment over the move of the Government to give 100% hike in the salaries and wages of ministers, MLAs and MLCs. They said Government on one hand was claiming that there were some financial constraints in implementing 7th Pay Commission but on the other hand they had no such constraints in giving double hike in the perks/ salaries to Legislators and Ministers .
It is unfortunate that instead of resolving the pending issues of employees regarding regularization of daily wagers and others, removing pay anomalies and providing justice of contractual workers, Asha and Anganwadi workers and helpers, the Government is asking the employees to wait for two years. They termed this Government as anti-employee and resolved to launch State wide agitation.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included- Kulwant Singh, L R Khajuria, Shahid Hussain, K S Khalsa, Subash Chander, Dev Dutt, Suresh Kumar, Ranjit Singh, Aslam Khanand Manohar Lal.
